Sacred Places In medinah
Madinan hosts The Prophet’s Mosque, Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, which houses the tomb of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Its peace and tranquility stems from the dua made by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for Allah to grant blessings and favors upon Madinah and its inhabitants. Its a place where the first masjid was built in Islam.
Also known as the prophet’s mosque and many call it the green dom. Masjid Al Nabawi is iconic as it houses the tomb of the prophet Muhammad (SAW) with Umar (RA) and Abubakar (RA)
Masjid Quba is one of the oldest mosques in Islam and it was the sunnah of the prophet (SAW) to pray two rakat in this masjid. The Prophet (PBUH) said: “He who purifies himself at his home and comes to Masjid Quba and offers two rakats therein, will be rewarded the reward of an Umrah ” [Sunan ibn Majah]
Mount Uhud is the place where the second most important battle between the non-believers of Makkah and the Muslims (Muhajireen and Ansar) of Madinah took place known as the Battle of Uhud
Miqat mosque holds a special place because the Prophet (P.B.U.H) defined it as the miqat for the people of Medina. As pilgrims arrive for umrah or hajj, they stop by the mosque in order to enter into ihram and make the intention of performing umrah before they leave for Mecca.
